You know Slack? Slack is a super popular chat application that has revolutionized the way that development teams communicate.
Because it is in such widespread use in the development community, we built a Slack app that allows you to integrate Updraft with Slack and start receiving notifications and updates as soon a new build has been uploaded to Updraft. Isn't that cool?
It’s super simple to integrate Updraft in your Slack team, just like everything else is with Updraft.
We recommend creating a separate channel in your Slack Workspace for each app first. The channel is best called #yourproject-builds. This way you can invite your testers and your development team to the channel and only send notifications from Updraft - this way you won't disturb or distract anyone else.
To configure the Slack - Updraft integration you need to do following steps:
Go to the Dashboard
Open your App Project
Click on Project Settings
Then on Integration
Click on the Slack Button
You will need to type in your Slack Workspace and the Channel (#yourproject-builds).
Done. You will receive a message in your Slack Channel that the configuration for Updraft has now been configured.
All notifications about new builds and apps within Slack contains the following information: App Title, Deployment Environment, App Version and Build Version.
The notification also contains a download link to the app. The link can be clicked and the tester or development team can download the app without logging in.
You can find all information about the official Updraft Slack App here. The instruction on how to integrate Slack in your project you can find in the docs. Happy slack-ing!
